Unique Homecare Ltd was founded by Linda Whelan in 2002
Our Beginning
Unique Homecare Ltd began as a way of ensuring that the highest level of care is guaranteed for every individual that needs it. As the saying goes, 'If you want something doing properly, do it yourself', Linda began as a carer herself and started her own company to elevate the standard of care throughout the Bishop Auckland area. Over the past six years our care workers have become a familiar sight thoughout our existing areas of Crook, Willington, Spennymoor, Bishop Auckland, Chilton, Ferryhill, Sedgefield, Trimdons, Shildon, Middridge, Newton Aycliffe, School Aycliffe, Aycliffe Village, Heighington, and we now cover Darlington and its surrounding areas.
Our Carers
Our team of Careworkers has grown substantially since we first began caring in 2002 and we now boast over a hundred caring staff. A great deal of care is taken in choosing reliable, caring staff which is highlighted in our recruitment process where previous employment, care work certificates and Criminal Records are thoroughly checked before any member of staff begins our training programme.
If you are interested in becoming a carer for Unique Homecare Ltd, once satisfactory references have been attained and an enhanced Police Check and POVA has been returned clear, you will undergo an intensive induction training programme, which is followed by ongoing training, before you are introduced to our clients. Please see our Carer Application page to show your interest in joining us.
